Annacis Division Family Picnic

On August 14th, Coastland in conjunction with BC Hydro held a family picnic at Ryall Park in New Westminster. There was a face painter, as well as a very animated, fire juggling, tight rope walking magician who took time to tie balloon shapes for the kids. The weather was excellent and the food trucks serving Thai and Tacos for all of the families and later the mill were truly a hit!

It was great to see all the smiling faces and get a chance to meet and chat with co-workers outside of our work environment. In the future, we hope to expand on events like this and be able to get to know all of our great employees and their families outside of the work place. With everything that has happened over the last 3 years, it was nice to see families united and enjoying some time together.

Since Coastland’s beginning, we have focused on saving energy at all of our facilities. Jack Stephens has been instrumental in helping us achieve these goals and has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure Coastland can utilize all the efficiencies BC Hydro has to offer. The BC Hydro team was onsite with a booth and putting green sharing information for all employees to understand the impact we can all make through power conservation including Coastland. Thank you to Jack for his effort and BC Hydro for helping sponsor this great event.

Thank you to the Annacis Team for organizing a great event and I look forward to repeating and expanding it next year!
